The Auchentoshan 'Valinch' Single Malt Whisky has been triple distilled and matured solely in American bourbon casks and is a non chill-filtered, cask strength whisky.
The Valinch is the name of the pipette used to draw whisky straight from the cask.
A limited edition release in 2011 and bottled at 57.5%abv.
Now on the outskirts of Glasgow, when the distillery was first built in 1823 it was some miles from the city. It is a traditional Lowland malt in that it is triple distilled, in fact it's the only Lowland Distillery left that triple distills. The spirit from the wash still emerges at 18%, 54% from the intermediate still and 81% from the spirit still. It has always been highly regarded.
Auchentoshan means 'Corner of the field' in Gaelic.
