The Balvenie 12 year old Signature is a limited release whisky. The maturation has been in three different wood types - Sherry, first fill Bourbon and then refill casks. These have been skilfully married together to create David Stewart's signature bottling.

The three casks impart different characters. Sherry - Rich fruit and spice. the Bourbon - subtle vanilla oak and layers of honey and finally the Refill casks - delicate sweet notes and smoothness.

Balvenie was built in 1892 alongside it's sister distillery Glenfiddich by W. Grant & Sons. In 1957 it doubled its stills from 2 to 4 two more stills were added in 1965 in 1971 another still added. Balvenie Distillery is still under the same ownership of W. Grant & Sons Ltd, one of the few remaining independent, family firms.
