This Benromach 1949 single malt whisky is from Speyside’s smallest working distillery and is the oldest and rarest expression of Benromach released to date.
On Friday, 28 January 1949, the Benromach stills, standing in the heart of the distillery, completed a distillation of Benromach Single Malt Whisky and under the supervision of distillery manager, Tom McKerron, a specially selected cask was filled.
For fifty-five years cask number 706 sat quietly maturing, its sturdy oak staves protecting and nurturing the valuable spirit. The contents of this cask is what remains today in this very precious whisky. These amazing bottles of which there only 83 (35 in the UK) are bottled at 42.4%.
