This Benromach Organic Whisky is the FIRST organic single malt whisky to be bottled. The whole process is certified 100% organic by the Soil Association.

Benromach's experienced distillers use the pure spring water that comes from the nearby Romach Hills and the finest Scottish organic barley dried using peat smoke and organic yeast for this hand made whisky. Only the spirit that they consider to be the highest quality is then filled into hand selected virgin American oak casks made from natural wild growing forest. This spirit is then left to mature before being bottled, non chill filtered and with only its natural colour, at 43% ABV.

Ian Urquhart, managing director of Gordan & MacPhail, says that Benromach Organic is "aimed at the consumer with an enquiring mind, seeking to explore a challenging and truly unique product". Benromach Distillery was founded in 1898, this imposing distillery lay silent and empty for a number of years and suffered many closures and changes in ownership prior to 1993, when malt whisky specialists, Gordon & MacPhail, rescued it. They set about an extensive re-installation programme to bring Benromach back to its former glory. HRH Prince of Wales officially re-opened the distillery in its Centenary year.
