Connemara Cask Strength is the only Irish whiskey to be produced at its natural strength. Surprisingly smooth at 57.9% alcohol by volume, the cask strength captures the essence of Connemara.
Natural and undiluted, not chill-filtered or coloured in any way, Connemara Cask Strength reflects the rugged nature of the famous region in the West of Ireland. As extraordinary as the landscape, this whiskey is exceptional. Because it is so natural and undiluted, the level of alcohol differs between bottlings, and so labels are printed specially for each batch.
The pure clear spring water from the Cooley Mountains united with the peated malted barley give the Connemara Cask Strength a rare flavour. Slowly maturing for long years in oak casks, the natural ingredients and traditional distilling methods employed by Cooley Distillery create a whiskey which is simply spectacular.
The Cooley Distillery is the only independent distillery in Ireland. Founded in 1987. a former state owned potato alcohol plant on the Cooley peninsular north of Dublin was acquired, and converted into two distilleries, a pot still and patent still operations.
In due course the brand names of Andrew.A.Watt of Derry and John Locke of Kilbeggan were acquired.
