This Dallas Dhu 1970 30 Year old whisky is from independent bottler Signatory. Distilled on 6th March 1970 then matured in Sherry Butt number 673 for 30 years before being bottled on 25th July 2000 at a cask strength of 56.5%abv.

The Dllas Dhu 1970 comes superbly presented in a wooden box together with a miniature 5cl of the same Dallas Dhu 1970 whisky and a tasting glass.

Only 378 bottles were filled.

Dallas Dhu Distillery dates from 1899 and it has a chequered life which doesn't reflect in the quality of it's make. Closed between 1930 and 1936, the still room was destroyed by fire in 1938, then the distillery closed again in 1983. However unlike many other distilleries closed at that time, it reopened again in 1988, though not as a working distillery but as a distillery museum. It is maintained as such, and in theory it could restart at short notice.

The make is by repute as being one of the top ten in Scotland and many lament it's passing. Not surprisingly stocks are diminishing.
