The Highland Park 18 year old single malt whisky is to me one of the great whiskies of the world, tasting of peat smoke with hints of honey and heather,bottled at 43% alcohol by volume.

Highland Park is an old distillery founded in 1798 on the site of an illegal still. The distillery has four stills. It is at present the most northerly distillery in the British Isles...just, the peat for the lightly peated malt is cut nearby, and used in it's own maltings, this is then blended with unpeated malt from the mainland.
