This Lochside 1991 expression is from Gordon & Macphails Connoisseurs Choice , distilled in September 1991 matured in refill Bourbon barrels then bottled June 2008 at 43%abv.

On the nose it is sweet with toasted malt hints.

On the palate heavy sweetness, spicy and again malty notes.

Medium body with a long dry finish.

Lochside distillery was originally built as a brewery. It was bought and the distilling equipment installed (four pot stills), this could be adapted for both grain and malt whisky production with the outcome suitable for blends. In 1973 the Spanish company DYC bought the distillery, they closed the grains plant but continued production with the pot stills until 1992 when the distillery closed and the stocks removed.
