This Duncan Taylor bottling of North British 1978 29 year old single grain whisky was distilled in September 1978 and matured in cask number 39890 till being bottled in February 2008 at 55.6%abv.

263 bottles were filled.

North British Distillery was founded in 1885 (coming on stream in 1887) as a Single Grain Distillery by a group of independent distillers for their own blends.

Designed to produce 114,000 litres per week it now produces 1.25 million litres per week!

The distillery has it's own maltings using only maize with a high percentage of green malt. Used in such blends as Chivas Regal, Famous Grouse and J&B.
