This Oban Distillers Edition limited release was distilled in 1995 and bottled 2009 at 43%. This whisky has been double matured, firstly in American Bourbon casks and finally in Montilla Fino casks - a dry style of sherry, the casks of which enhance the whisky

The Oban distillery is small - almost bijou, cramped and looking out to sea from the town centre of Oban. The town of Oban grew around the distillery as it was founded before the town itself in 1794.

An elegant whisky, West Highland in style with a hint of salt on the after taste, production is small, demand is great so demand exceeds supply. The current owners of Oban distillery are Diageo. The distillery gets its water from two lochs in Ardconnel. Sadly whisky is not stored and matured on site.
