PLEASE NOTE, YOU MUST BE OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE, AND OF LEGAL AGE TO PURCHASE ALCOHOL IN YOUR HOME COUNTRY, TO ORDER FROM US. WE REGRET THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO DESPATCH TO CANADA.
How to order Orders can be placed online via our secure order form. Alternatively, you can telephone us with your order and credit or debit card details on 01793 765071 between 9am and 9pm GMT, 7 days a week. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE CANNOT ACCEPT SOLO CARDS WHERE THE NUMBER STARTS WITH 4917, OR ANY VISA ELECTRON CARDS. Customers ordering from outside the UK should read the information on shipping costs, terms and conditions for overseas orders that are shown further down the page
If you live within the UK and wish to pay by cheque please make it payable to Arkwrights, and send it with your order to Arkwrights, 114 The Dormers, Highworth, Swindon, Wiltshire SN6 7PE. We will send the goods to you once we receive the cheque and it has cleared.
Mainland UK (Excluding Scottish Highlands & Islands) Postage and Packing Rates
For any one order to one address, providing that it can be packed in one container and weighs less than 30kg the postage charge is £6.95 (inc VAT and packaging). If the total order weighs 30kg or over, or cannot be packed into one container, we reserve the right to make an additional charge for postage. Before making any such additional charge we would inform you, and give you the opportunity to cancel or amend your order before despatch.
N.B. All parcels must be signed for. If Parcelforce/Royal Mail are unable to get a signature they will leave you a card stating where the parcel can be collected from (usually your local post office or Parcelforce office).
We usually despatch orders within 2 working days of receiving the order and payment (unless payment is by cheque), if all items are in stock. If items are out of stock we will contact you by email or telephone to discuss what you would like us to do.
Scottish Highlands & Islands, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man, and Isles of Scilly, Postage and Packing Rates
For 1 or 2 bottles the cost of shipping to these areas is from £9.00 per bottle and lightweight outer, inclusive of VAT and insurance up to £36. Parcels are usually despatched by first class Royal Mail.
For 3 bottles or more the cost is from £22 for any one order to one address, providing that it can be packed in one container and weighs less than 30kg. N.B. These parcels are usually sent via Parcelforce and must be signed for. If Parcelforce are unable to get a signature they will leave you a card stating where the parcel can be collected from (usually your local post office or Parcelforce office)

Returns and Refunds, and Complaints
If you have any problems with your order please telephone, write to, or email Arkwrights and we will endeavour to sort out the problem within 3 working days of receiving the query. You can telephone on 01793 765071 between 7.00 am and 9 pm GMT 7 days per week. Our email address is arkwrights@whiskyandwines.com. Our postal address is as shown above.
Non-delivery must be reported to us within 14 days of placing an order so that we can investigate the matter with Parcelforce/Royal Mail. If non-delivery is not notified within this time then no claims can be considered.
If the goods are damaged or faulty when you receive them they will be replaced free of charge, or a full refund will be made. Please contact us within 3 working days of receiving the goods so that we can arrange for the damaged or faulty goods to be collected from you. Where the goods are delivered by Parcelforce you must note any damage when you sign for the goods.
Complaints are handled on a one-to-one basis by phone or e-mail, or by post if a reply is not urgent, and we will try and come to a satisfactory conclusion within 3 days of the complaint being made. All complaints will remain confidential.
If you order goods in error, or no longer require the goods that you have ordered, you can return them within 7 working days that begin on the day after you have received the goods. We cannot refund the cost of the original or return postage/shipping costs, but we will refund Your Money for the goods within 30 days of receiving them back at Arkwrights if they are returned in an unopened and unused condition.
N.B. Please get a proof of posting, or even insure the goods, in case they get lost in transit when being returned. If the goods are lost in transit we cannot refund the cost of those goods but you should be able to make a claim through the carrier e.g. Royal Mail or Business Post. We cannot refund or replace any item that has been opened or used.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
Overseas Shipping Please note that the despatch of goods overseas can only be to the registered credit or debit card holders own address. We reserve the right to request payment by international cash transfer in sterling. We regret that at present we are unable to ship to Canada .
Guide rates for postage and packing to Europe
The cost of shipping to Europe is from £12.50 per bottle and lightweight outer. This includes VAT, suitable packaging, and insurance to a value of £32GBP. Where the whisky is presented in a heavy and/or bulky container there will be a surcharge for despatching these so you should tell us whether or not you wish to have the container and we will confirm costs accordingly. Non EU countries will be charged the VAT exclusive cost.

The cost of shipping to these countries is from £18.50 per bottle and lightweight outer. This includes suitable packaging and insurance to a value of £32GBP. Where the whisky is presented in a heavy and/or bulky container there will be a surcharge for despatching these so you should tell us whether or not you wish to have the container and we will confirm costs accordingly.
The following terms and conditions apply to all despatches to destinations outside the UK
We regret that we cannot guarantee the safe delivery of alcohol or spirits. Where we agree to send bottles overseas it is on the understanding that we do so entirely at the risk of the customer. Parcels are despatched via either Royal Mail Airmail or Parcelforce International, and we will hold proof of posting that shows when goods were sent out and to which address. Where Parcelforce International or Royal Mail signed for service are used then a signature will be required on delivery. Where necessary, a Customs declaration is filled in stating that the goods are "Collectors Malt - No commercial value", and declaring the replacement value. It is your responsibility to inspect the condition of the parcel when you receive it and to record any findings on the delivery note.
If there is damage you must get a Post Office official to authenticate this. We will refund the cost of bottles damaged as a result of inadequate packaging but we must be satisfied that poor packaging is the cause of the damage. Do not refuse or return parcels to us as we will be charged for their return, and we will need to pass this charge on to you. You must notify us of any damage within 24 hours of receiving the parcel. Please notify us of any non-delivery after 14 days of placing the order and within 21 days.
We are not responsible for any duty or taxes, excise or otherwise, that are incurred after the goods leave our premises. Nor can we refund monies for any goods that are impounded for any reason. It is your responsibility to check with your own excise officials what is required with regards to customs clearance and if there are any special instructions to us please ensure they are absolutely clear.
Despatches beyond the European Union are zero rated for VAT (currently 17.5%) and this is deducted from the price of the goods. The VAT exclusive price can be viewed on our website.
Sales beyond the European Union must not be for subsequent re-sale. Breach of this condition is liable to your prosecution and compensation being sought by the producer and/or your local distributor.
Where payment has been made by credit or debit card we will not charge the card until the goods are despatched.
