This Springbank 10 year old 35cl single malt whisky is bottled at 46% abv and was matured in 60% bourbon cask and 40% sherry cask.
Springbank distillery was built in 1825 on the site of an illegal still. An interesting, eccentric producer. The distillery has three stills (one wash, two spirit), the make being part triple distilled or perhaps more accurately two and a half times.
Springbank also have their own floor maltings, and on site bottling plant. The whisky is not chill filtered before bottling. The distillery has amazingly remained within the same family since conception. A malt whisky of the highest calibre. Slightly briny and lightly peated in stye. A malt in a class of it's own.
