Monkey Shoulder

Monkey Shoulder is a blended single malt (aka Vatted malt) containing Glenfiddich, Balvenie and mostly Kininvie. This whisky flies off the shelves all year round and it does so because of its excellent quality and very reasonable price. The whisky’s smoothness makes it an ideal dram for those new to whisky as well as whisky connoisseurs. Value for money there are few that can compete with this.

Arran 10 year old Single Malt Whisky

From the small but perfectly formed Arran distillery comes this elegant whisky with notes of cream soda, citrus, green apples and spice. Beautifully presented and very affordable, this is the perfect dram if you don't know what style of whisky the intended recipient likes.

GlenDronach 12 year old Single Malt whisky

One of our top selling whiskies and with very good reason. Matured in a combination of the finest Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso Sherry casks this Highland whisky is irrestible to most people and is the perfect Christmas dram.

Connemara Peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey

Glenfiddich 14 year old Rich Oak

1 in 5 single malts sold is a Glenfiddich and this bottle is a perfect example of why that is. The 14 year old Rich Oak spent 14 years in American bourbon before being finished for 6-8 weeks in new American oak and new European oak. The taste is of rich vanilla with nutty undertones and the finish is spicy with oak lingering as well. This single malt is perfect for Speyside fans.

Tullamore Dew

Tullamore Dew is a very light and subtle Irish whiskey. The nose is floral but delicate, the taste fruity and the finish slightly dry but with hints of fudge. A good bottle for fans of Irish whiskey or those who like their whisky light. Excellent price at £19.99

Compass Box Orangerie

This fabulous Compass Box creation is like Christmas in a glass. It is smooth, sweet Scotch whisky that has been infused with hand-peeled zest of Navalino oranges and subtle accents of Indonesian cassia bark and Sri Lankan cloves, and it goes beautifully with some dark chocolate.

Balvenie 12 year old Double Wood

The Double Wood has had a double maturation - first in an American bourbon cask and then in sherry cask. The palate is of vanilla from the bourbon cask with fruity tones from the sherry cask. This is my favourite Balvenie.

Benromach Organic

The first organic single malt ever bottled, with the whole process being 100% organic from start to finish. Matured in virgin American oak casks, this whisky is a smooth and sweet dram with strong oak flavours. Something different and something of high quality, just what you want for that perfect present!!

Bruichladdich Sherry Classic

This is an example of the new Bruichladdich single malt, produced after the distillery re-opened in 2001. Matured in American bourbon and finished in sherry cask, this whisky is a multi vintage (so a selection of younger and older whiskies) with the sherry casks being handpicked by Jim McEwan.

Big Peat Cask Strength Christmas Malt Whisky

One of our favourite Islay characters has become even more muscular for the Festive season and has also donned his Santa hat (well, until the Islay 'breeze' blew it off...). Joking apart, this fabuous blended malt whisky from Douglas Laing contains whisky from Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen and can now be tried in all its full unfettered cask stength glory. Any peat head would be delighted to find this one in their Christmas stocking.

Hibiki 12 year old

This Hibiki 12 year old is an excellent introduction to the world of Japanese whisky. It contains single malts ranging in age from 12 years to 30 years as well as some grain whisky. This whisky is a lesson in just how good blends can be.

St Georges Chapter 9

St Georges is the only English malt whisky distillery and this Chapter 9 expression is a peaty/smoky version of their whisky. This is a distillery not many will have tried since it only opened in 2006 and therefore only releasing whisky since 2009. This expression was bottled at 46% abv.

Scapa 16 Year old

One of the most attractively presented whiskies we have and also a great dram. Scapa is the second most northerly distillery in Scotland, being situated on Orkney. The whisky is unpeated, silky smooth and sweet with hints of honey and heather. A must try for whisky lovers.

Canto 6

The Canto range comes from Compass Box and each cask was finished in different new oaks, this particular expression being finished for the last 18 months of its maturation in French Sessile Oak barrels - the finest most expensive sessile oak you can buy for cooperage usage. Only 252 were ever bottled and this makes it a perfect present for collectors and drinker alike.

Springbank 15 year old Single Malt Whisky

We both love this whisky. Slightly briny and lightly peated in style, a malt in a class of it's own that is very much a product of it's environment. Medium to full bodied, with lots of character this is a dram that brings a smile to your face.

Lagavulin 1994 Distillers Edition

This distillers edition Lagavulin, like its predecessors, is bourbon cask matured with a Pedro Ximenez finish. This is a great example of Islay whisky, being rich in texture and flavour. A peated whisky and a great buy for fans of Islay.

Auchentoshan 18 Year old

Auchentoshan is the only distillery in Scotland that triple distils all of its whisky, and this gives the whisky a light and delicate taste. The 18 year old is floral with hints of ginger and a nutty finish with oak towards the end. A great lowland whisky at a very affordable price.

GlenDronach 21 Year old 'Parliament'

This new release from GlenDronach is going to be part of their core range going forward and is named after the 'parliament' of rooks that have been nesting in the trees overlooking the distillery for over 200 years. Another single malt whisky that is easy to love, this was matured in both Oloroso and PX casks and what could be more appropriate at this time of the year than flavours of fine Oloroso sherry and bitter chocolate sauce, which has been spread liberally over homemade plum pudding - all infused with fabulous spicy notes of cinnamon, allspice and nutmeg. Balvenie 21 Year old Port Wood

Initially matured in American bourbon but finished in a Port wood cask. A full bodied whisky with a creamy but smooth taste and hints of honey and spices with a long nutty finish. A great Speyside malt.

North of Scotland 1974 35 Year old

Not a single malt but a single grain. This whisky shouldn’t be dismissed because of any preconceptions you may have about grain whiskies as this is a fabulous example of just how great they can be. If you want something different and of great quality then this is the whisky you’re after.

Ardbeg Supernova 2010 release

This release of Supernova is the peatiest Ardbeg ever! The peat and salt flavours are strong with peppers, chocolate and chilli coming through. The finish is long and powerful. This limited edition bottle is a must for Islay drinkers and collectors.

Compass Box Flaming Heart 10th Anniversary Edition

Compass Box are boutique whisky makers who produce some fabulous, unique drams through the art of blending and this is one of my all time favourites. Made only from Single Malt Whiskies it has peaty and smoky notes combined with fruity,malty and vanilla, accented by clove like character. It is a limited release and is presented in a museum case

Dalmore 1995 Castle Leod Single Malt whisky

Dalmore is a Highland distillery and the whisky is rich and luscious in style. This beautifully presented Dalmore 1995 Castle Leod is the second in a series of limited edition special releases. Created by Master Distiller Richard Paterson in homage to Castle Leod, the historic seat of Clan Mackenzie for the last 500 years, it would make a very special present.
