Whisky gifts for Father's Day - Ideas!
 |
If your budget is limited then why not get him the ever popular Jim Murray Whisky Bible? Updated every year the 2011 version has tasting notes on over 45000 whiskies and is amazing value at only £12.99. |
Moving on to whiskies, why not browse through our
miniatures
and pick out a selection for your Dad to taste or a gift pack containing his favourite malts? Or if you want to buy him a slightly larger bottle but don't have a big budget then we can recommend one of our great selection of 20cl bottles . There are both single bottles and collections to choose from, and with individual bottles starting at £11.50 and a good range of styles of whisky there is something for all tastes. |

If you want to get a full size bottle for Dad then for something a bit different, think about getting him a whisky from the Springbank range. This independent distillery is somewhat unique as they carry out every single part of the whisky production process on site - from growing the barley right through to bottling the whisky. If you don't know your Dad's taste you're best going with an unpeated malt and Springbank produce two different styles of these - Hazelburn is triple distilled and the eponymously named Springbank is distilled two and a half times. Both are delightful whiskies and very well priced. |
|
If you know peated whisky is Dad's style of single malt then
Springbank distillers also produce a peated whisky called Longrow, with
several expressions available including a cask strength version and a
sherry cask one. |
 |
 |
Another peated whisky
that is proving very popular is Big Peat. A fabulous vatting of Islay malts (including a percentage of whisky from the now closed Port Ellen Distillery) the label, with its image of a typical rugged, windswept Islay man, is a modern classic. This is available in both 70cl and 20cl bottles so will be within reach of most pockets. |
If your Dad is both a whisky lover and a fisherman then one of the whiskies from the Dalmore Rivers range is ideal. The Dee Dram, Spey Dram, Tweed Dram and Tay Dram were crafted in celebration and support of Scotland’s great salmon fishing rivers, and a generous donation from the sale of every bottle is made to the respective trusts or foundations that carry out unceasing conservation work at these beautiful rivers. So as well as getting your Dad a great gift you will also be helping in this valuable conservation work |
