This independent distillery is somewhat unique as they carry out every single part of the whisky production process on site ­- from growing the barley right through to bottling the whisky. If you don't know your Dad's taste you're best going with an unpeated malt and Springbank produce two different styles of these - Hazelburn is triple distilled and the eponymously named Springbank is distilled two and a half times. Both are delightful whiskies and very well priced.
